Supporting global heritage with INTO: Caraleya’s commitment to conservation

That’s why we’re delighted to share more about our ongoing partnership with the International National Trusts Organisation (INTO). Together, we’re working to uplift the incredible efforts of National Trusts around the globe.

A special spotlight on Fiji

One recent initiative we’re proud to support involves a meaningful collaboration between the Fiji National Trust, INTO and the National Trust in England. INTO facilitated the creation of “Sentinels – Protecting Fiji’s Heritage Trees” - a powerful short film showcasing the importance of conserving Fiji’s native trees and forests.

Led by Tom Hill, a Woodland Specialist from the National Trust, this film celebrates the knowledge and traditions of Fiji’s indigenous communities, who have long viewed trees as part of their extended family.

The film was recently showcased at the Pacific Human Rights Film Festival in Suva, Fiji and there are plans for a formal launch alongside other conservation-focused organisations in the South Pacific.

But this is just the beginning. The project will also produce a report outlining ways to implement and resource a long-term conservation program for heritage trees in Fiji - ensuring these incredible ecosystems are protected for generations to come.
